Moonstone is considered by some to be a sacred and magical gemstone, with the power to bring about pleasant and beautiful dreams. With its ghostly glow, this feldspar gem is indeed magical. Moonstone jewellery is an inspirational gift for your friend or loved-one for many events: At a Wedding for example (or Engagement), for the bride or bridesmaids – or as a lucky gift for a relative or colleague who is having a Confirmation or whose son or daughter is having their First Communion. (Or even as an inspirational good luck gift at a Baby Shower to celebrate the arrival of a new baby.)

To look at Moonstone is to see a truly magical gemstone. The Europeans of the Middle Ages thought that by looking into a moonstone, one could fall into a deep sleep and see the future, and so gifts of Moonstone jewellery were thought to be ideal for people who had dreams of a better life – whether in love, in their work / job or even in business. It can be associated as a birthstone for June.

Presents made from Moonstone are ideal for special events or occasions where a calm thoughtfulness is required, like First Communion or Confirmation. It is also suitable for guests at a Wedding who might be dreaming about their own future and happiness:

For centuries the concha scallop shell, which is typically found on the sea coast of Galicia, in northern Spain, close to Santiago de Compostela (and the home of the Camino) has been the symbol of the Way of St James, and its pilgrims - los peregrinos. Pilgrims returned to their countries of origin wearing the scallop concha shell as a souvenir over their habit or hat, to demonstrate that they had reached Santiago. The scallop shell signifies rebirth, making way for a calmer self, supposedly one of the great lessons of the pilgrimage of life (and el Camino). For many, the walk is to find inspiration - improving their outlook on life, bringing them into closer contact with nature and expanding their cultural horizons through contact with other pilgrims. Everyone experiences the journey in a different way.

And Amazonite, which was first called 'Amazon Stone' with the name taken from the Amazon River (although few actual feldspars like this exist in this area today) is sometimes called the stone of truth or the "Hope Stone", as it is believed to help people along their path of self-discovery, thus soothing the spirit and calming the soul as people find contentment in personal harmony. In the past, artists were said to have found it particularly useful because they believed it cleared the lines of communication and thought.

Description: The bracelet measures 18cms(7") and fastens with a big bold bolt ring.

You can keep this lovely piece of camino jewellery for yourself or send it as a gift to a friend or loved-one to show them you are thinking of them and how much you care. Comes gift-wrapped, like all our presents - and we can print a personal message on your behalf.
