SEARCH for Sodalite  jewellery gifts in our SHOP

Sodalite is characterised by its dark, intense blue colour with white and sometimes yellow streaks. Egyptian priests used sodalite to dispel fear and to promote a clear, insightful mind. So Sodalite jewellery makes a great gift with meaning for many people, whatever their profession – lecturer, engineer, judge, journalist, sportswoman, doctor, musician, vet, and so on, or simply a colleague at work like a supervisor, or a student friend. Why? Mystics say the gemstone can help change the way you feel about yourself. It is said to have subtle, soothing energies and help people see the wisdom of adopting a simpler, calmer and less hectic lifestyle: So, good for healing rifts in partnerships and relationships too, because it is said to help bring calm to arguments or disagreements  –  thus aiding mediators and peace makers. Sodalite makes the ideal gift for events, jobs and professions needing calm.

If you want to wish your friends or colleagues well and show them how much you care, let us send this meaningful present on your behalf. It is the ideal gift for any special event / occasion, particularly for someone starting out on a new adventure in life - like a new job, travelling afar or even beginning retirement.

Dimensions: The beautiful little 14ct Gold-Filled Camino necklace features a double scallop shell which measures 17mm in length (including the hanging ring) by 12mm in width. It is very dainty and hangs on a fine, light-weight 14ct Gold-Filled trace chain of 16 inches - or a longer 18 inches (Please choose in Options box)

Is Gold-Filled the same as Gold-Plated / Vermeil?

No, it is much better: Gold-Filled is a layer of solid gold, pressure-bonded into another metal. Whereas Gold-Plating is a very thin layer of gold that is 'plated' onto the surface of a metal. (Vermeil just means that the plated item is made of silver: Nothing more; it is still just Gold-Plated.) So, Gold-Filled has a much higher value than simple Gold-Plating or Vermeil because it contains a much greater quantity of gold; and is of higher quality because of the way that gold is included: Once termed “Rolled-Gold” it has a long history - although the modern process wasn't patented until Victorian times in England. It is much more precious and tarnish-resistant than Gold-Plated / Vermeil: It does not rub off or flake or change colour.

Camino de Santiago info:

The 1,000-year-old Way of St. James (El Camino de Santiago - in Spanish), criss-crosses Western Europe, arriving at Santiago de Compostela in Northern Spain on the Atlantic coast. At least 200,000 people travel to the city each year from all over the world: Some people walk, others travel by bike. Many travellers choose to do the Camino for personal, rather than any spiritual or religious reasons - taking time out from their busy, modern lives and perhaps finding inspiration along the way, whilst reflecting on their lives in a supportive environment. Many carry with them Scallop shells like these. Everyone experiences the journey in a different way.

Whatever somebody’s journey - whether on El Camino itself, on holiday, a business trip, a gap year, trekking, etc, many friends and loved-ones like to pass on a special gift to wish the recipient well on their travels - and safekeeping along the way. This necklace is perfect for that purpose. In addition to any value that the Camino charm symbol has in itself, or the religious faith that it might represent, this necklace can also act as a reminder to be careful when travelling. And this can be a powerful aid to staying safe whilst away from home. Would make a perfect Farewell gift.

Gift this pretty scallop shell necklace to tell your friends and loved-ones that you are thinking of them or that you'll miss them, and to take care . . it's a really meaningful gift. Comes gift-wrapped, like all our presents - and we can print a personal message on your behalf.
